Skyway Bridge Light Show

Night view of Skyway Bridge light show illuminated with red, blue, and yellow lights, reflecting on the water below, with large circular platforms in the water and a boat nearby.

Formally known as the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, this iconic structure stretches across Tampa Bay and connects St. Petersburg to southern Pinellas County. Recognized as one of Florida’s most stunning feats of engineering, the bridge is even more beautiful at night than it is by day.

The Skyway Light Show features more than 1,800 vertical light fixtures, programmed to shift and ripple in vibrant, colorful patterns across the massive support columns and cables. A $15 million lighting system was installed to create this one-of-a-kind display, visible for miles along the bay.

From the water, the view is unmatched, completely free of traffic or crowds, and with the full scale of the bridge and its colorful glow reflected across the open bay. It’s a favorite subject for photographers, locals, and visitors alike.
